All of our products are consciously formulated to be safe for your entire family, including pregnant or nursing women, infants, children, and animals. Are enzymatic laundry detergents safe?
Yes, our Bio Laundry Detergents are safe when used as directed. There have been previously reported safety concerns pertaining to powdered laundry detergents using enzymes in their powdered form. These concerns were primarily associated with airborne dust particles entering into respiratory pathways and having the potential to trigger allergic reactions. Our Bio Laundry Detergent is a liquid detergent that uses advanced bioenzymes in a liquid form. No airborne dust or aerosol can be generated from proper use of our products. Additionally, multiple clinical and lab studies have found that the bioenzymes in today’s laundry detergents are not a cause of skin irritation or skin allergy.
Are Dirty Labs products pet-safe?
Yes, our products are pet-safe when used as directed. We love our pets too, and don’t include any EU listed fragrance allergens, California Proposition 65 chemicals of concern, or synthetic preservatives and other known irritants in our formula. As with all cleaning products, be sure to keep them safely out of reach of children and pets.
Are Dirty Labs products safe to use for babies?
All of our products are consciously formulated to be safe for your entire family, including infants and babies who may have more sensitive skin. We recommend consulting with your physician before use if you have specific concerns. Our aluminum bottles are made recycled aluminum and can be recycled infinitely. Our cap and spout are BPA free and made with non-colored PP and PE plastic.
Do you use natural fragrances or essential oils?
There are numerous studies that have shown that many common essential oils can carry allergens that can cause skin irritations or other forms of allergic reactions. We formulate our fragrances using only natural and synthetic ingredients that are safe, especially for sensitive skin. Our fragrance ingredients do NOT include EU fragrance allergens or California Proposition 65 chemicals of concern.
Are your products disinfecting or antibacterial?
We currently do not claim that our products are disinfecting or antibacterial. We are supporting research conducted by The Biodesign Institute at Arizona State University to understand the effects of bio-enzymes and plant-based surfactants on viruses such as Covid-19. In order to sanitize clothing and fabrics, we recommend washing your laundry in hot water.
How does Phytolase® work?
Phytolase® consists of a proprietary blend of advanced bioenzymes that comprise the cleaning engine behind our Bio Laundry Detergents. Enzymes are naturally occurring proteins that aid in digestion, decomposition, and decay. We’ve designed our enzymes to target and break down stains into smaller component pieces. These pieces lift from your fabrics and rinse away with your wash water. You can learn more about our science here.
Can I use Bio Laundry Detergents on delicates?
Dirty Labs Bio Laundry Detergent is optimized for cold water and is safe for all machine wash cycles, including delicates. For all laundry, we recommend following the garment care instructions for the best care for your fabrics.
Does your Bio Laundry Detergent work in cold water?

Why do I need so little to get my wash done?
Our formula is 10x concentrated, meaning that we’ve removed any excess water and fillers from our formulas. We only include what’s needed to get your laundry clean. A little goes a long way with our formula so be sure not to use more than the recommended amount for each wash load.
